Masala chai cake is moist and delicious with a light essence of aromatic chai, spices, and lots of walnuts.
Ingredients:
190 ml full-fat milk
2 heaped tablespoons of tea powder
8-10 cardamom, roughly crushed
4-5 cloves
100 gms butter at room temperature
4 tbsp castor sugar
1 cup condensed milk
1/2 cup chopped walnuts
1.5 cups all-purpose flour
1 and 1/4 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
Instructions:
In a pan, prepare the masala chai by combining the milk, and tea powder, Bring to a boil, strain and set aside to cool
Combine the all-purpose flour, baking powder, baking soda and walnuts in a bowl. Mix well and set aside
In another bowl, beat the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add the condensed milk and continue beating. Now add the tea and beat until well combined. Add the flour mixture to the batter and fold well, making sure there are no lumps
Pour the batter into a 7-inch baking pan
Bake the cake at 180 degrees C for 50- 60 mins or until an inserted skewer comes out dry.
Dust some sugar powder and enjoy!
